My mom dragged my siblings and me into a few musicals as kids. I never stopped watching them. It just took nearly 40 years and the right show to get me back on stage. Last year, I took a film acting class mostly out of curiosity — and I fell in love.It's been a lot to figure out, with more than a few humbling moments. I love the Nelson Mandela quote: "I never lose. I either win or learn."Outside of acting, I lead a team of software engineers. When you lead people, you learn to read what someone is feeling, what motivates them, what they're not saying. That carries over into acting more than I expected. I get out hiking when the weather cooperates, just learned to scuba dive, and am generally happiest when I'm outside or working on something I'm not very good at yet. I have four kids and enjoy watching them build their own lives.
